create and it boom creates like eight or create and it boom creates like eight or so video type slides of of what you're so video type slides of of what you're so video type slides of of what you're trying to create and then you can very trying to create and then you can very trying to create and then you can very easily go in those upload your own stuff easily go in those upload your own stuff easily go in those upload your own stuff tweak stuff move things around it's very tweak stuff move things around it's very tweak stuff move things around it's very easy um I just thought it was actually easy um I just thought it was actually easy um I just thought it was actually really cool if you're trying to create a really cool if you're trying to create a really cool if you're trying to create a quick like 30 90 second two-minute video quick like 30 90 second two-minute video quick like 30 90 second two-minute video um it really gets you down the path um it really gets you down the path um it really gets you down the path pretty fast so I thought it was really pretty fast so I thought it was really pretty fast so I thought it was really cool that's very interesting um in terms cool that's very interesting um in terms cool that's very interesting um in terms of editability of the videos once of editability of the videos once of editability of the videos once they've been created by bable we may they've been created by bable we may they've been created by bable we may have fun just talking about the names of have fun just talking about the names of have fun just talking about the names of some of the AI products and services some of the AI products and services some of the AI products and services that we come across but um in terms of that we come across but um in terms of that we come across but um in terms of editability uh did you play around much editability uh did you play around much editability uh did you play around much with it like once the videos and your with it like once the videos and your with it like once the videos and your different options were created could you different options were created could you different options were created could you go and and manipulate them or massage go and and manipulate them or massage go and and manipulate them or massage them to to look more or feel more like them to to look more or feel more like them to to look more or feel more like what you might want to do did you have what you might want to do did you have what you might want to do did you have branding capability would you be able to branding capability would you be able to branding capability would you be able to Brand it if you were a church uh to you Brand it if you were a church uh to you Brand it if you were a church uh to you know make it know make it know make it brandable yes that is a potential brandable yes that is a potential brandable yes that is a potential weakness of it is what it gives you is weakness of it is what it gives you is weakness of it is what it gives you is four four main types of feels like a four four main types of feels like a four four main types of feels like a modern like four different backgrounds modern like four different backgrounds modern like four different backgrounds and if for a church it's kind I what I and if for a church it's kind I what I and if for a church it's kind I what I would say is if you like one of those would say is if you like one of those would say is if you like one of those four main backgrounds then out of the four main backgrounds then out of the four main backgrounds then out of the box it could be a great uh thing for you box it could be a great uh thing for you box it could be a great uh thing for you if you don't like one of those four main if you don't like one of those four main if you don't like one of those four main background types then it may not be a

something awesome I'll share it okay something awesome I'll share it okay cool well the video tool that I used cool well the video tool that I used cool well the video tool that I used which it's been a couple of weeks since which it's been a couple of weeks since which it's been a couple of weeks since I I did uh and I I I actually shared it I I did uh and I I I actually shared it I I did uh and I I I actually shared it with you because I'm like hey have you with you because I'm like hey have you with you because I'm like hey have you heard of this before and you were like heard of this before and you were like heard of this before and you were like yes I have because well as I said before yes I have because well as I said before yes I have because well as I said before you've been digging around in the AI you've been digging around in the AI you've been digging around in the AI space a lot more than I have uh and it space a lot more than I have uh and it space a lot more than I have uh and it is a platform form called video but it's is a platform form called video but it's is a platform form called video but it's spelled VI D yo video. a and this is you spelled VI D yo video. a and this is you spelled VI D yo video. a and this is you know there might be actually some know there might be actually some know there might be actually some Churches and church leaders who have Churches and church leaders who have Churches and church leaders who have actually experimented with um platforms actually experimented with um platforms actually experimented with um platforms similar to video you can take a sermon similar to video you can take a sermon similar to video you can take a sermon and you can upload a sermon a a longer and you can upload a sermon a a longer and you can upload a sermon a a longer form video uh to the platform and then form video uh to the platform and then form video uh to the platform and then it will actually select um I think it it will actually select um I think it it will actually select um I think it was four I think it might have been four was four I think it might have been four was four I think it might have been four it was either four or eight short clips it was either four or eight short clips it was either four or eight short clips uh to be able to use on social media and uh to be able to use on social media and uh to be able to use on social media and you can select whether you want them to you can select whether you want them to you can select whether you want them to be vertical or you want to be the be vertical or you want to be the be vertical or you want to be the horizontal and then it will actually horizontal and then it will actually horizontal and then it will actually create U the captions uh creating a create U the captions uh creating a create U the captions uh creating a transcript for you and a c and captions transcript for you and a c and captions transcript for you and a c and captions uh for those actual videos so if you uh for those actual videos so if you uh for those actual videos so if you have a sermon and you want to create uh have a sermon and you want to create uh have a sermon and you want to create uh sermon shorts little Snippets of your sermon shorts little Snippets of your sermon shorts little Snippets of your sermon to share on social media um it's sermon to share on social media um it's sermon to share on social media um it's a tool that you could be used that could a tool that you could be used that could a tool that you could be used that could be used for that now there's a free be used for that now there's a free be used for that now there's a free version and a paid version I was using version and a paid version I was using version and a paid version I was using the free version and what I discovered the free version and what I discovered the free version and what I discovered with the free version is is that while with the free version is is that while with the free version is is that while you can do some editing um it's limited you can do some editing um it's limited you can do some editing um it's limited in the free version what you can in the free version what you can in the free version what you can actually do uh I because I didn't go actually do uh I because I didn't go actually do uh I because I didn't go into the paid version I'm not 100% sure into the paid version I'm not 100% sure into the paid version I'm not 100% sure how much further you can take it um but how much further you can take it um but how much further you can take it um but overall it was actually pretty decent um

it that we it that we feel feel feel differently so okay maybe we should differently so okay maybe we should differently so okay maybe we should start by saying like what are some stuff start by saying like what are some stuff start by saying like what are some stuff some kind of like what is it that they some kind of like what is it that they some kind of like what is it that they said you you want me to just kind of said you you want me to just kind of said you you want me to just kind of share few things you've got a few bullet share few things you've got a few bullet share few things you've got a few bullet points written down here what are some points written down here what are some points written down here what are some of the bullet points that they that you of the bullet points that they that you of the bullet points that they that you wrote down that they they express wrote down that they they express wrote down that they they express concerns concerns concerns over yeah so the first thing that that over yeah so the first thing that that over yeah so the first thing that that Ed did in in the interview was he asked Ed did in in the interview was he asked Ed did in in the interview was he asked chat GPT to write an ed ster sermon now chat GPT to write an ed ster sermon now chat GPT to write an ed ster sermon now this is such a common first use case this is such a common first use case this is such a common first use case like like first thing that people go to like like first thing that people go to like like first thing that people go to they say huh what about AI in the church they say huh what about AI in the church they say huh what about AI in the church let me have it write a sermon for me and let me have it write a sermon for me and let me have it write a sermon for me and uh I I'll come back to that point so uh I I'll come back to that point so uh I I'll come back to that point so I'll mention a few just kind of over I I'll mention a few just kind of over I I'll mention a few just kind of over I want to come back to that but a few want to come back to that but a few want to come back to that but a few other things were a fear of of other things were a fear of of other things were a fear of of plagiarism of saying like if you if you plagiarism of saying like if you if you plagiarism of saying like if you if you say that you did something that it say that you did something that it say that you did something that it wasn't your words it was somebody else's wasn't your words it was somebody else's wasn't your words it was somebody else's then there's a a pretty big fear of the then there's a a pretty big fear of the then there's a a pretty big fear of the topic of plagiarism um topic of plagiarism um topic of plagiarism um one point that they made is that to kind one point that they made is that to kind one point that they made is that to kind of offset that pretty significant fear of offset that pretty significant fear of offset that pretty significant fear of plagiarism you should make sure you of plagiarism you should make sure you of plagiarism you should make sure you disclose to the congregation as as an disclose to the congregation as as an disclose to the congregation as as an idea they're not saying you have to do idea they're not saying you have to do idea they're not saying you have to do this but one way you can combat that this but one way you can combat that this but one way you can combat that fear disclosing to the congregation any fear disclosing to the congregation any fear disclosing to the congregation any time that you are using an AI for your time that you are using an AI for your time that you are using an AI for your sermon

sermon sermon research um and they kind of left research um and they kind of left research um and they kind of left with the church should be very with the church should be very with the church should be very cautious because in the end the fear of cautious because in the end the fear of cautious because in the end the fear of and the temptation to use and the temptation to use and the temptation to use AI to do more than it should to like AI to do more than it should to like AI to do more than it should to like write your sermon for you and do write your sermon for you and do write your sermon for you and do everything for you is so great that you everything for you is so great that you everything for you is so great that you may not be able to stand up against it may not be able to stand up against it may not be able to stand up against it and then and then and then so should you use it should you so should you use it should you so should you use it should you not that's kind of where they landed the not that's kind of where they landed the not that's kind of where they landed the plane okay yeah and and I missed no I plane okay yeah and and I missed no I plane okay yeah and and I missed no I think that was pretty good I I I think think that was pretty good I I I think think that was pretty good I I I think that you know I think that your concerns that you know I think that your concerns that you know I think that your concerns are a little bit different than mine so are a little bit different than mine so are a little bit different than mine so one of the things that you're you're one of the things that you're you're one of the things that you're you're going to hit on here in just a moment going to hit on here in just a moment going to hit on here in just a moment and I'm going to give you an opportunity and I'm going to give you an opportunity and I'm going to give you an opportunity to drill down on this is that you're to drill down on this is that you're to drill down on this is that you're essentially saying that their approach essentially saying that their approach essentially saying that their approach to the way that they're using the tool to the way that they're using the tool to the way that they're using the tool is wrong they're using it for the wrong is wrong they're using it for the wrong is wrong they're using it for the wrong things um and and I agree with you on things um and and I agree with you on things um and and I agree with you on that I will say there were a couple of that I will say there were a couple of that I will say there were a couple of things that sort of um rubbed me the things that sort of um rubbed me the things that sort of um rubbed me the wrong way um and and one of them was as wrong way um and and one of them was as wrong way um and and one of them was as both of them were both of them were both of them were sharing both of them were sharing about sharing both of them were sharing about sharing both of them were sharing about their concerns it seems like their their their concerns it seems like their their their concerns it seems like their their primary concern is that pastors are primary concern is that pastors are primary concern is that pastors are going to stop doing the work of studying going to stop doing the work of studying going to stop doing the work of studying the scriptures and preparing a sermon the scriptures and preparing a sermon the scriptures and preparing a sermon they're going to have ai write a sermon they're going to have ai write a sermon they're going to have ai write a sermon for them and they're going to stand up for them and they're going to stand up for them and they're going to stand up in front of their congregation on Sunday in front of their congregation on Sunday in front of their congregation on Sunday and read the sermon that was written for and read the sermon that was written for and read the sermon that was written for them and pretend that it was their own

them and pretend that it was their own them and pretend that it was their own that's like worst case scenario and that's like worst case scenario and that's like worst case scenario and that's where their tendency was to think that's where their tendency was to think that's where their tendency was to think that this is how pastors are going to that this is how pastors are going to that this is how pastors are going to use this I will say this I'm I'm around use this I will say this I'm I'm around use this I will say this I'm I'm around a lot of churches I've been around a lot a lot of churches I've been around a lot a lot of churches I've been around a lot of pastors and I honestly the best of pastors and I honestly the best of pastors and I honestly the best pastors the best communicators the best pastors the best communicators the best pastors the best communicators the best preachers that I know um would never preachers that I know um would never preachers that I know um would never depend on a tool like this to write the depend on a tool like this to write the depend on a tool like this to write the content for them because they content for them because they content for them because they personalize their sermon content so much personalize their sermon content so much personalize their sermon content so much um if I could be honest and I I'm just um if I could be honest and I I'm just um if I could be honest and I I'm just gonna I'm gonna throw Scott Ray under gonna I'm gonna throw Scott Ray under gonna I'm gonna throw Scott Ray under the bus because this is what I was the bus because this is what I was the bus because this is what I was feeling as I was listening to it is it feeling as I was listening to it is it feeling as I was listening to it is it was almost like he was saying Hey listen was almost like he was saying Hey listen was almost like he was saying Hey listen I never had this tool to use when I was I never had this tool to use when I was I never had this tool to use when I was writing sermons and so you shouldn't writing sermons and so you shouldn't writing sermons and so you shouldn't have it either you should have to write have it either you should have to write have it either you should have to write the sermon the same way I wrote The the sermon the same way I wrote The the sermon the same way I wrote The Sermon which is wrestling with the text Sermon which is wrestling with the text Sermon which is wrestling with the text and letting God reveal to you what God's and letting God reveal to you what God's and letting God reveal to you what God's going to reveal to you and if you're not going to reveal to you and if you're not going to reveal to you and if you're not wrestling with the text there's no way wrestling with the text there's no way wrestling with the text there's no way that the Holy Spirit can use what you're that the Holy Spirit can use what you're that the Holy Spirit can use what you're preaching on Sunday and so it to me preaching on Sunday and so it to me preaching on Sunday and so it to me there was sort of this generational there was sort of this generational there was sort of this generational challenge which was hey you know we challenge which was hey you know we challenge which was hey you know we didn't have cars when I was a kid so you didn't have cars when I was a kid so you didn't have cars when I was a kid so you should have to walk everywhere you go should have to walk everywhere you go should have to walk everywhere you go too or ride a horse right that was kind too or ride a horse right that was kind too or ride a horse right that was kind of again I know that sounds very extreme of again I know that sounds very extreme of again I know that sounds very extreme but that was the feeling that I got when but that was the feeling that I got when but that was the feeling that I got when I was listening to him I like well he's I was listening to him I like well he's I was listening to him I like well he's basically saying you got to Discount the basically saying you got to Discount the basically saying you got to Discount the discount the technology because you discount the technology because you discount the technology because you can't do it authentically and spirit-led can't do it authentically and spirit-led can't do it authentically and spirit-led in using the technology now I will pivot

in using the technology now I will pivot in using the technology now I will pivot on that and say you and you and I on that and say you and you and I on that and say you and you and I actually had a conversation on the actually had a conversation on the actually had a conversation on the missional marketing podcast to the other missional marketing podcast to the other missional marketing podcast to the other podcast that I I host most um and one of podcast that I I host most um and one of podcast that I I host most um and one of the things that I highlighted is the the things that I highlighted is the the things that I highlighted is the fact that there's a difference between fact that there's a difference between fact that there's a difference between AI generated content and AI assisted AI generated content and AI assisted AI generated content and AI assisted content and I think that's really where content and I think that's really where content and I think that's really where you're going to go with talking about you're going to go with talking about you're going to go with talking about how people can better use AI tools but how people can better use AI tools but how people can better use AI tools but it's one thing for me to have chat GPT it's one thing for me to have chat GPT it's one thing for me to have chat GPT or Claude write a sermon for me and have or Claude write a sermon for me and have or Claude write a sermon for me and have me stand up there and read it that is me stand up there and read it that is me stand up there and read it that is content generated by AI versus me using content generated by AI versus me using content generated by AI versus me using the tools to improve or to find examples the tools to improve or to find examples the tools to improve or to find examples or to you know use illustrations here's or to you know use illustrations here's or to you know use illustrations here's an illustration here's an example of an illustration here's an example of an illustration here's an example of something that I used it for recently something that I used it for recently something that I used it for recently and something that actually would and something that actually would and something that actually would respond to uh Ed and Scott in their respond to uh Ed and Scott in their respond to uh Ed and Scott in their discussion is that I was putting discussion is that I was putting discussion is that I was putting together a sermon outline for something together a sermon outline for something together a sermon outline for something completely out in left field um and I completely out in left field um and I completely out in left field um and I asked Claude to give me an illustration asked Claude to give me an illustration asked Claude to give me an illustration or a story that reflected this one or a story that reflected this one or a story that reflected this one certain concept that I was trying to put certain concept that I was trying to put certain concept that I was trying to put together in the sermon outline and together in the sermon outline and together in the sermon outline and Claude gave me this really interesting Claude gave me this really interesting Claude gave me this really interesting story about this woman and I won't go story about this woman and I won't go story about this woman and I won't go into all the details of it and as I was into all the details of it and as I was into all the details of it and as I was reading it I was like huh that actually reading it I was like huh that actually reading it I was like huh that actually fits really well but the first question fits really well but the first question fits really well but the first question that I thought was I wonder if this is that I thought was I wonder if this is that I thought was I wonder if this is actually a true story so I left Claude actually a true story so I left Claude actually a true story so I left Claude and I went to Google and I googled this and I went to Google and I googled this and I went to Google and I googled this person's name to find more articles and

Judah being Wendell and Jenny's son um Judah being Wendell and Jenny's son um took over the church some 12 13 years took over the church some 12 13 years took over the church some 12 13 years ago now um but 31 years ago they left ago now um but 31 years ago they left ago now um but 31 years ago they left Portland Oregon felt like God was Portland Oregon felt like God was Portland Oregon felt like God was calling them to start a local church in calling them to start a local church in calling them to start a local church in Seattle that church grew by the grace of Seattle that church grew by the grace of Seattle that church grew by the grace of God um under their leadership and also God um under their leadership and also God um under their leadership and also under Judah and Chelsea's leadership under Judah and Chelsea's leadership under Judah and Chelsea's leadership about five or six years ago uh Judah and about five or six years ago uh Judah and about five or six years ago uh Judah and our board really felt it uh place on our board really felt it uh place on our board really felt it uh place on their hearts that um there was a big their hearts that um there was a big their hearts that um there was a big shift kind of happening in in um in shift kind of happening in in um in shift kind of happening in in um in their hearts surrounding our community their hearts surrounding our community their hearts surrounding our community and then the way that we reach people and then the way that we reach people and then the way that we reach people and um two things really came to to and um two things really came to to and um two things really came to to judah's Heart specifically which is the judah's Heart specifically which is the judah's Heart specifically which is the fact that he felt like church should fact that he felt like church should fact that he felt like church should feel like a home and we also believe feel like a home and we also believe feel like a home and we also believe that you could do Church in your home or that you could do Church in your home or that you could do Church in your home or anywhere uh where you are across the anywhere uh where you are across the anywhere uh where you are across the world uh a lot of people didn't like world uh a lot of people didn't like world uh a lot of people didn't like that concept when when we first shared that concept when when we first shared that concept when when we first shared it but that's how he went from the city it but that's how he went from the city it but that's how he went from the city Church to church home uh the irony of Church to church home uh the irony of Church to church home uh the irony of that is that by March of 2020 it was our that is that by March of 2020 it was our that is that by March of 2020 it was our goal to Pivot to uh be able to goal to Pivot to uh be able to goal to Pivot to uh be able to facilitate Church no matter where you facilitate Church no matter where you facilitate Church no matter where you were in the globe our exact thematic were in the globe our exact thematic were in the globe our exact thematic goal in that time is to Pivot to church goal in that time is to Pivot to church goal in that time is to Pivot to church at home and um we all know what happened at home and um we all know what happened at home and um we all know what happened in March of 2020 and the world um will in March of 2020 and the world um will in March of 2020 and the world um will never be the same and everybody went never be the same and everybody went never be the same and everybody went from thinking we are crazy to asking us from thinking we are crazy to asking us from thinking we are crazy to asking us um all of a sudden hey what are you guys um all of a sudden hey what are you guys um all of a sudden hey what are you guys doing how are you doing this how are you doing how are you doing this how are you doing how are you doing this how are you facilitating this and as the world has facilitating this and as the world has facilitating this and as the world has returned to normaly um we've seen a lot returned to normaly um we've seen a lot returned to normaly um we've seen a lot of uh the the western church of uh the the western church of uh the the western church specifically kind of return which is not specifically kind of return which is not specifically kind of return which is not bad uh to the methodologies that are bad uh to the methodologies that are bad uh to the methodologies that are known and have been operated in the past known and have been operated in the past known and have been operated in the past we used really uh the the acceleration we used really uh the the acceleration we used really uh the the acceleration of Technology within Faith uh and Faith of Technology within Faith uh and Faith of Technology within Faith uh and Faith engagement U to further the Tailwind engagement U to further the Tailwind engagement U to further the Tailwind that we had as a community to align to

from other transfer growth people going from other transfer growth people going from other churches who preferred the music or the churches who preferred the music or the churches who preferred the music or the preaching or the programs or whatever it preaching or the programs or whatever it preaching or the programs or whatever it may be in church B to church a and so may be in church B to church a and so may be in church B to church a and so the quote unquote growth was really the quote unquote growth was really the quote unquote growth was really Christians leaving one church for live in places where we don't have physical places where we don't have physical places where we don't have physical locations to engage in church locations to engage in church locations to engage in church experiences and and help people grow in experiences and and help people grow in experiences and and help people grow in their faith um we've actually been their faith um we've actually been their faith um we've actually been through a very significant development through a very significant development through a very significant development cycle that we're at the very end of I've cycle some worldclass tools to be able to position worldclass tools to be able to position worldclass tools to be able to position ourselves for not just even the AI tools ourselves for not just even the AI
