there were a lot of times where there were a lot of times where different Ministry leaders or different different Ministry leaders or different different Ministry leaders or different pastors wanted Communications team at that time they Communications team at that time they were seeing roughly 55 000 patients a were seeing roughly 55 000 patients a were seeing roughly 55 000 patients a year and they had five Clinic sites year and they had five Clinic sites year and they had five Clinic sites so I built their Communications team so I built their Communications team so I built their Communications team um and we had like relaunched a new um and we had like relaunched a new um and we had like relaunched a new website and there were several things we website and there were several things we website and there were several things we were able to do were able to do were able to do successfully there to help them grow successfully there to help them grow successfully there to help them grow um I was there about five years and then um I was there about five years and then um I was there about five years and then decided I needed decided I needed decided I needed I needed a break from the nonprofit I needed a break from the nonprofit I needed a break from the nonprofit world for a minute so I started working world for a minute so I started working world for a minute so I started working for Fortune 500 company that I will not for Fortune 500 company that I will not for Fortune 500 company that I will not say the name of it wasn't a great say the name of it wasn't a great say the name of it wasn't a great experience I was there about 18 months experience I was there about 18 months experience I was there about 18 months um um um and I learned quite a bit there too but and I learned quite a bit there too but and I learned quite a bit there too but at that time at that time at that time there was there was there was um some challenges with a health of a um some challenges with a health of a um some challenges with a health of a person a family member who lived in person a family member who lived in person a family member who lived in Columbus so we wanted to come back my Columbus so we wanted to come back my Columbus so we wanted to come back my family and I wanted to connect me here family and I wanted to connect me here family and I wanted to connect me here with our family here in Columbus so we with our family here in Columbus so we with our family here in Columbus so we knew that was our objective and our knew that was our objective and our knew that was our objective and our mission mission mission even though we love Chicago very much even though we love Chicago very much even though we love Chicago very much um we knew we needed to make the move to um we knew we needed to make the move to um we knew we needed to make the move to Columbus and so I started looking for Columbus and so I started looking for Columbus and so I started looking for jobs there and through what I can only jobs there and through what I can only jobs there and through what I can only describe at a very high level as a very describe at a very high level as a very describe at a very high level as a very strong sense of calling and if you guys strong sense of calling and if you guys strong sense of calling and if you guys are familiar with the vineyard movement are familiar with the vineyard movement are familiar with the vineyard movement and the vineyard Faith practices and the vineyard Faith practices and the vineyard Faith practices um I think that kind of helps explain it um I think that kind of helps explain it um I think that kind of helps explain it a little bit more but felt a really a little bit more but felt a really a little bit more but felt a really strong sense of calling to this role I strong sense of calling to this role I strong sense of calling to this role I was not even aware of Vineyard Columbus was not even aware of Vineyard Columbus was not even aware of Vineyard Columbus when I applied but through the interview when I applied but through the interview when I applied but through the interview process it was affirmed for me several process it was affirmed for me several process it was affirmed for me several times that this is where I needed to be um so yeah now five years later I've

um so yeah now five years later I've been here I've been in Columbus it'll be been here I've been in Columbus it'll be been here I've been in Columbus it'll be five years in January so five years in January so five years in January so right on okay so you know what's really right on okay so you know what's really right on okay so you know what's really cool cool cool um is you've got that experience of um is you've got that experience of um is you've got that experience of dealing with dealing with dealing with corporate non-profit and church even corporate non-profit and church even corporate non-profit and church even though church is non-profit right yeah though church is non-profit right yeah though church is non-profit right yeah so you've had a well-rounded so you've had a well-rounded so you've had a well-rounded um basically a portfolio of how to do um basically a portfolio of how to do um basically a portfolio of how to do Communications what's the most Communications what's the most Communications what's the most challenging thing in the church World challenging thing in the church World challenging thing in the church World versus the other two that you dealt with versus the other two that you dealt with versus the other two that you dealt with oh there's pros and cons to all of them oh there's pros and cons to all of them oh there's pros and cons to all of them um I think um I think um I think Church worlds Church worlds Church worlds oh I don't know I think the pros far oh I don't know I think the pros far oh I don't know I think the pros far outweigh the cons for me I think one of outweigh the cons for me I think one of outweigh the cons for me I think one of the biggest challenges that I have here the biggest challenges that I have here the biggest challenges that I have here though that I also had working though that I also had working though that I also had working non-profit is recruiting great talent non-profit is recruiting great talent non-profit is recruiting great talent because I can't pay what they can make because I can't pay what they can make because I can't pay what they can make elsewhere elsewhere elsewhere um I'm a great boss so if I ever have a um I'm a great boss so if I ever have a um I'm a great boss so if I ever have a job posted and somebody sees this and job posted and somebody sees this and job posted and somebody sees this and wants to apply please do wants to apply please do wants to apply please do um um um but the reality is if they have family but the reality is if they have family but the reality is if they have family or financial obligations that working at or financial obligations that working at or financial obligations that working at a church for someone who is maybe a a church for someone who is maybe a a church for someone who is maybe a really great social media manager really really great social media manager really really great social media manager really great you know at doing the great you know at doing the great you know at doing the communications jobs those are really communications jobs those are really communications jobs those are really uh uh uh those really specialized skill sets and those really specialized skill sets and those really specialized skill sets and to get really great people into those to get really great people into those to get really great people into those roles can be challenging yeah so over roles can be challenging yeah so over roles can be challenging yeah so over the five years you've been in yours as

the five years you've been in yours as the five years you've been in yours as the Director of communications at the Director of communications at the Director of communications at Vineyard you you certainly have had Vineyard you you certainly have had Vineyard you you certainly have had people come and go and I got to work people come and go and I got to work people come and go and I got to work with one of your one of your guys who with one of your one of your guys who with one of your one of your guys who was a phenomenal guy he just ended up was a phenomenal guy he just ended up was a phenomenal guy he just ended up believing recently believing recently believing recently um loved him dearly um loved him dearly um loved him dearly but so how what what's your you know but so how what what's your you know but so how what what's your you know because it's a pain point for you now because it's a pain point for you now because it's a pain point for you now you gotta you gotta just keep finding you gotta you gotta just keep finding you gotta you gotta just keep finding good talent where do you go where do you good talent where do you go where do you good talent where do you go where do you turn how do you recruit and retain and turn how do you recruit and retain and turn how do you recruit and retain and do you Outsource stuff or do you is it do you Outsource stuff or do you is it do you Outsource stuff or do you is it more like we just got to keep fighting more like we just got to keep fighting more like we just got to keep fighting until God delivers and brings that one until God delivers and brings that one until God delivers and brings that one person person person yeah so it's sort of everything first of yeah so it's sort of everything first of yeah so it's sort of everything first of all like I'm all like I'm all like I'm I'm Scrappy I'm Scrappy I'm Scrappy um so I'm able to kind of like piece um so I'm able to kind of like piece um so I'm able to kind of like piece things together and make it work but I'm things together and make it work but I'm things together and make it work but I'm also I believe strongly in prayer and I also I believe strongly in prayer and I also I believe strongly in prayer and I have a funny story to tell you about have a funny story to tell you about have a funny story to tell you about praying for the right people to come praying for the right people to come praying for the right people to come along with one of our pastors on staff along with one of our pastors on staff along with one of our pastors on staff here which if we have time I'll bring here which if we have time I'll bring here which if we have time I'll bring that up later but that up later but that up later but um like covering things in person we do um like covering things in person we do um like covering things in person we do use contractors I have relationships use contractors I have relationships use contractors I have relationships built with different like website uh built with different like website uh built with different like website uh developer and designer and graphic developer and designer and graphic developer and designer and graphic designers copywriters anyone that I may designers copywriters anyone that I may designers copywriters anyone that I may need for specific projects who I'll give need for specific projects who I'll give need for specific projects who I'll give a call and say hey we've got this coming a call and say hey we've got this coming a call and say hey we've got this coming up is it something you might be up is it something you might be up is it something you might be interested in interested in interested in um and my hope is that if they have a um and my hope is that if they have a um and my hope is that if they have a good experience working with us working good experience working with us working good experience working with us working for me that they'll come back and do it for me that they'll come back and do it for me that they'll come back and do it again and so I work really hard to again and so I work really hard to again and so I work really hard to cultivate those relationships cultivate those relationships cultivate those relationships um um um but that's like you you have to truly but that's like you you have to truly but that's like you you have to truly own your brand you have to truly own the

own your brand you have to truly own the own your brand you have to truly own the projects as the one leading that for projects as the one leading that for projects as the one leading that for your church or your organization but you your church or your organization but you your church or your organization but you can Outsource it a variety of ways if can Outsource it a variety of ways if can Outsource it a variety of ways if you need to in the short term always you need to in the short term always you need to in the short term always bringing somebody in-house they're going bringing somebody in-house they're going bringing somebody in-house they're going to own it a little bit differently to own it a little bit differently to own it a little bit differently yeah I don't know if that answers your yeah I don't know if that answers your yeah I don't know if that answers your question but we do Post question but we do Post question but we do Post we do post positions on indeed we also we do post positions on indeed we also we do post positions on indeed we also post them on our website we'll like post them on our website we'll like post them on our website we'll like boost posts if it's a specialized boost posts if it's a specialized boost posts if it's a specialized role that's harder to fill then we will role that's harder to fill then we will role that's harder to fill then we will do our own campaigns around that too to do our own campaigns around that too to do our own campaigns around that too to make sure that we're getting that and make sure that we're getting that and make sure that we're getting that and that's not just for comms rules that's that's not just for comms rules that's that's not just for comms rules that's for any role in the church if there's for any role in the church if there's for any role in the church if there's something really specific we're trying something really specific we're trying something really specific we're trying to do and Amanda can you can you to do and Amanda can you can you to do and Amanda can you can you describe the makeup of your team who all describe the makeup of your team who all describe the makeup of your team who all is on your team so you you're the is on your team so you you're the is on your team so you you're the director of communications give us an director of communications give us an director of communications give us an idea of who your direct reports are what idea of who your direct reports are what idea of who your direct reports are what kind of staff you're working with kind of staff you're working with kind of staff you're working with yeah so I have five direct reports um yeah so I have five direct reports um yeah so I have five direct reports um the gentleman that we were just talking the gentleman that we were just talking the gentleman that we were just talking about it briefly about it briefly about it briefly um was his name well you don't even know um was his name well you don't even know um was his name well you don't even know his name but anyway he was our webmaster his name but anyway he was our webmaster his name but anyway he was our webmaster he was real he does have a name he was a he was real he does have a name he was a he was real he does have a name he was a great guy we just had his going away great guy we just had his going away great guy we just had his going away party last week party last week party last week um and like so many people showed up for um and like so many people showed up for um and like so many people showed up for this because he was so well loved just this because he was so well loved just this because he was so well loved just really great with people and a really really great with people and a really really great with people and a really strong cultural and Mission fit strong cultural and Mission fit strong cultural and Mission fit um so I was our webmaster he designed um so I was our webmaster he designed um so I was our webmaster he designed um and developed our website kept it um and developed our website kept it um and developed our website kept it edited and up to date he also worked edited and up to date he also worked edited and up to date he also worked really closely with missional marketing really closely with missional marketing really closely with missional marketing on our Google ads and a lot of those on our Google ads and a lot of those on our Google ads and a lot of those digital marketing initials he actually digital marketing initials he actually digital marketing initials he actually foundational marketing for us because we foundational marketing for us because we foundational marketing for us because we had worked with a different company and

had worked with a different company and had worked with a different company and we weren't I was not happy with them and we weren't I was not happy with them and we weren't I was not happy with them and so then he brought he brought you guys so then he brought he brought you guys so then he brought he brought you guys to my doorstep and here we are a lot of to my doorstep and here we are a lot of to my doorstep and here we are a lot of love yeah so that's the webmaster role I love yeah so that's the webmaster role I love yeah so that's the webmaster role I also have um what we call a digital also have um what we call a digital also have um what we call a digital content creator she does email and content creator she does email and content creator she does email and social media for us social media for us social media for us I have a graphic designer or he's a I have a graphic designer or he's a I have a graphic designer or he's a senior graphic designer and a video senior graphic designer and a video senior graphic designer and a video producer lead video editor producer lead video editor producer lead video editor um lastly I have what I call my um lastly I have what I call my um lastly I have what I call my um I call him Sam of all trades because um I call him Sam of all trades because um I call him Sam of all trades because his name is Sam but he can do literally his name is Sam but he can do literally his name is Sam but he can do literally anything on the team so he fills in anything on the team so he fills in anything on the team so he fills in where needed and that's been a really where needed and that's been a really where needed and that's been a really great mix for us great mix for us great mix for us yeah yeah yeah so you're so you're so you're the largest Vineyard Church in the world the largest Vineyard Church in the world the largest Vineyard Church in the world yeah yeah yeah that's a lot you have a lot going on that's a lot you have a lot going on that's a lot you have a lot going on um give us a glimpse of what that work um give us a glimpse of what that work um give us a glimpse of what that work or workload or demand is a few week in or workload or demand is a few week in or workload or demand is a few week in and week out like how many projects do and week out like how many projects do and week out like how many projects do you guys have going on any given time or you guys have going on any given time or you guys have going on any given time or yeah yeah yeah um well it's always like a moving Target um well it's always like a moving Target um well it's always like a moving Target um so um so um so it depends on what else is going on it depends on what else is going on it depends on what else is going on within the life of the church so an within the life of the church so an within the life of the church so an example is we were meeting this morning example is we were meeting this morning example is we were meeting this morning talking about any talking about any talking about any um like collateral or assets we needed um like collateral or assets we needed um like collateral or assets we needed to shore up for a launch of a new campus to shore up for a launch of a new campus to shore up for a launch of a new campus we have a new Spanish-speaking campus we have a new Spanish-speaking campus we have a new Spanish-speaking campus that's launching in our Grandview that's launching in our Grandview that's launching in our Grandview neighborhood in Columbus neighborhood in Columbus neighborhood in Columbus um in January and so we were talking to um in January and so we were talking to um in January and so we were talking to him about or the pastor for that which
