takeaways what's everybody's the takeaways what's everybody's homework and I've honestly found it I I homework and I've honestly found it I I homework and I've honestly found it I I review them uh after every call and I review them uh after every call and I review them uh after every call and I found found them to be probably 90 to found found them to be probably 90 to found found them to be probably 90 to 95% accurate from time to time there's 95% accurate from time to time there's 95% accurate from time to time there's something where there was a little something where there was a little something where there was a little nuance and maybe something that was said nuance and maybe something that was said nuance and maybe something that was said that the AI didn't interpret exactly that the AI didn't interpret exactly that the AI didn't interpret exactly properly and I'll have to adjust those

that AI maybe could but should never do that AI maybe could but should never do or do we need to shrink the circle of or do we need to shrink the circle of or do we need to shrink the circle of things we think that it should never do things we think that it should never do things we think that it should never do and it actually do way more than we ever and it actually do way more than we ever and it actually do way more than we ever are giving it giving it permission to are giving it giving it permission to are giving it giving it permission to do I mean we've talked about this in do I mean we've talked about this in do I mean we've talked about this in previous episodes that we are in such an previous episodes that we are in such an previous episodes that we are in such an early stage of AI that I don't even early stage of AI that I don't even early stage of AI that I don't even think that our brains can probably even think that our brains can probably even think that our brains can probably even begin to begin to begin to comprehend just how big AI is going to comprehend just how big AI is going to comprehend just how big AI is going to be it it's sort of like if you if you be it it's sort of like if you if you be it it's sort of like if you if you flash back you know 20 years ago to the flash back you know 20 years ago to the flash back you know 20 years ago to the first iPhone that you know Apple first iPhone that you know Apple first iPhone that you know Apple released I don't know that any of us released I don't know that any of us released I don't know that any of us would have ever imagined that mobile would have ever imagined that mobile would have ever imagined that mobile techn technology would have advanced to techn technology would have advanced to techn technology would have advanced to the degree to which it has now I mean we the degree to which it has now I mean we the degree to which it has now I mean we thought it was really cool just to have thought it was really cool just to have thought it was really cool just to have a little camera on your phone today the a little camera on your phone today the a little camera on your phone today the camera that you have on your latest camera that you have on your latest camera that you have on your latest iPhone or your latest Galaxy phone is as iPhone or your latest Galaxy phone is as iPhone or your latest Galaxy phone is as good or better than a lot of DSLR good or better than a lot of DSLR good or better than a lot of DSLR cameras that you might spend hundreds or cameras that you might spend hundreds or cameras that you might spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on if you were just thousands of dollars on if you were just thousands of dollars on if you were just buying a standalone camera and that's buying a standalone camera and that's buying a standalone camera and that's it's mindboggling and then the the it's mindboggling and then the the it's mindboggling and then the the software applications within the phone software applications within the phone software applications within the phone itself to edit and to modify and to itself to edit and to modify and to itself to edit and to modify and to publish those photos I mean it's just publish those photos I mean it's just publish those photos I mean it's just and that's just one tiny little aspect and that's just one tiny little aspect and that's just one tiny little aspect of what you know mobile technology and of what you know mobile technology and of what you know mobile technology and the cell phone has has advanced in the the cell phone has has advanced in the the cell phone has has advanced in the last 20 years 20 years from now I think last 20 years 20 years from now I think last 20 years 20 years from now I think artificial intelligence is going to be artificial intelligence is going to be artificial intelligence is going to be in a completely different place in a completely different place in a completely different place obviously than it than it is today so I

obviously than it than it is today so I obviously than it than it is today so I I say that to say this um I think in the I say that to say this um I think in the I say that to say this um I think in the church world and in a faith community church world and in a faith community church world and in a faith community we're always probably going to have a a we're always probably going to have a a we're always probably going to have a a lot more conscience lot more conscience lot more conscience about where AI goes and what kind of about where AI goes and what kind of about where AI goes and what kind of influence it has in our lives because influence it has in our lives because influence it has in our lives because the reality is we want to know that we the reality is we want to know that we the reality is we want to know that we we know that AI is only as good as we know that AI is only as good as we know that AI is only as good as sophisticated as credible as the content sophisticated as credible as the content sophisticated as credible as the content that is going into it and we've already that is going into it and we've already that is going into it and we've already seen examples of people using things seen examples of people using things seen examples of people using things like chat GPT and others where it it's like chat GPT and others where it it's like chat GPT and others where it it's pulling information from the you know pulling information from the you know pulling information from the you know the nether lens the nether reaches of the nether lens the nether reaches of the nether lens the nether reaches of the interweb and it's not always 100% the interweb and it's not always 100% the interweb and it's not always 100% ACC it right so and and there's probably ACC it right so and and there's probably ACC it right so and and there's probably always a certain level of error that's always a certain level of error that's always a certain level of error that's going to exist in AI so when it comes to going to exist in AI so when it comes to going to exist in AI so when it comes to things like counseling people um you things like counseling people um you things like counseling people um you know I I think yeah I think that the know I I think yeah I think that the know I I think yeah I think that the probably is going to be some application probably is going to be some application probably is going to be some application there are going to be some you know there are going to be some you know there are going to be some you know right now you can do like a tedoc right now you can do like a tedoc right now you can do like a tedoc appointment right if you need a doctor appointment right if you need a doctor appointment right if you need a doctor you can do a tedoc appointment you can you can do a tedoc appointment you can you can do a tedoc appointment you can call a doctor tell them what your call a doctor tell them what your call a doctor tell them what your symptoms are over the phone and they'll symptoms are over the phone and they'll symptoms are over the phone and they'll prescribe a medication for you if it's prescribe a medication for you if it's prescribe a medication for you if it's not an emergency or something that you not an emergency or something that you not an emergency or something that you need to be hospitalized for um I can need to be hospitalized for um I can need to be hospitalized for um I can predictably see that those tedoc predictably see that those tedoc predictably see that those tedoc appointments are probably going to be appointments are probably going to be appointments are probably going to be replaced by some sort of artificial replaced by some sort of artificial replaced by some sort of artificial intelligence someday you're going to intelligence someday you're going to intelligence someday you're going to make a phone call to some sort of make a phone call to some sort of make a phone call to some sort of chatbot or get online and chat with a chatbot or get online and chat with a chatbot or get online and chat with a chatbot tell them what your symptoms are chatbot tell them what your symptoms are chatbot tell them what your symptoms are and why do we need a human to do that and why do we need a human to do that and why do we need a human to do that when we can get an actual robot to do

when we can get an actual robot to do when we can get an actual robot to do that now then of course there's all that now then of course there's all that now then of course there's all kinds of medical implications and things kinds of medical implications and things kinds of medical implications and things like that but I don't know are there like that but I don't know are there like that but I don't know are there things that AI shouldn't do yes am I things that AI shouldn't do yes am I things that AI shouldn't do yes am I qualified to say what those things are I qualified to say what those things are I qualified to say what those things are I don't think so uh but I yeah it's I don't think so uh but I yeah it's I don't think so uh but I yeah it's I think there's going to be there's going think there's going to be there's going think there's going to be there's going to be a Perpetual battle attention in to be a Perpetual battle attention in to be a Perpetual battle attention in there in that fine line what AI should there in that fine line what AI should there in that fine line what AI should do and what it shouldn't and that that do and what it shouldn't and that that do and what it shouldn't and that that was kind of my takeaway is I I felt was kind of my takeaway is I I felt was kind of my takeaway is I I felt pretty comfortable drawing a line a pretty comfortable drawing a line a pretty comfortable drawing a line a circle around the things AI shouldn't do circle around the things AI shouldn't do circle around the things AI shouldn't do and maybe the caveat there shouldn't do and maybe the caveat there shouldn't do and maybe the caveat there shouldn't do right now so AI you know probably isn't right now so AI you know probably isn't right now so AI you know probably isn't a great counselor biblical counselor can a great counselor biblical counselor can a great counselor biblical counselor can not can't handle Nuance conversations not can't handle Nuance conversations not can't handle Nuance conversations sensitive sensitive sensitive conversations um G you know psych conversations um G you know psych conversations um G you know psych psychologically oriented biblical psychologically oriented biblical psychologically oriented biblical counselor probably not a good job right counselor probably not a good job right counselor probably not a good job right now however pretty soon the answer to that however pretty soon the answer to that like it probably could do that really like it probably could do that really like it probably could do that really really well to your point and on the really well to your point and on the really well to your point and on the medical point I actually have a specific medical point I actually have a specific medical point I actually have a specific example um so we we went to a doctor example um so we we went to a doctor example um so we we went to a doctor recently for um and it was they were recently for um and it was they were recently for um and it was they were talking about like pictures of bones and talking about like pictures of bones and talking about like pictures of bones and growing and the the the person I was growing and the the the person I was growing and the the the person I was meeting with had a book out was looking meeting with had a book out was looking meeting with had a book out was looking at the the pictures of our like of like

at the the pictures of our like of like at the the pictures of our like of like bones growing comparing those pictures bones growing comparing those pictures bones growing comparing those pictures to pictures in a book to see which one to pictures in a book to see which one to pictures in a book to see which one the pictures look like compared to the the pictures look like compared to the the pictures look like compared to the X-ray X-ray X-ray bone and that's our that's this is where bone and that's our that's this is where bone and that's our that's this is where we are in in this modern day and age so we are in in this modern day and age so we are in in this modern day and age so to your point of imagine if you uploaded to your point of imagine if you uploaded to your point of imagine if you uploaded an image an image an image to uh to an AI doctor and and that to uh to an AI doctor and and that to uh to an AI doctor and and that doctor AI doctor looked at all of the doctor AI doctor looked at all of the doctor AI doctor looked at all of the images that ever existed about bones and images that ever existed about bones and images that ever existed about bones and bone growth and had all the knowledge bone growth and had all the knowledge bone growth and had all the knowledge right there that's where like it right there that's where like it right there that's where like it probably can is going to do a better job probably can is going to do a better job probably can is going to do a better job at that assessment than the physical at that assessment than the physical at that assessment than the physical doctor just looking at through pages in doctor just looking at through pages in doctor just looking at through pages in a book yeah at the time that you and I a book yeah at the time that you and I a book yeah at the time that you and I are recording this I have been having are recording this I have been having are recording this I have been having some health issues and I have had uh in some health issues and I have had uh in some health issues and I have had uh in a very short period of time cat scan a very short period of time cat scan a very short period of time cat scan ultrasound and MRI and in all three ultrasound and MRI and in all three ultrasound and MRI and in all three cases I've had a I guess a radiologist cases I've had a I guess a radiologist cases I've had a I guess a radiologist is that what you call the doctor who is that what you call the doctor who is that what you call the doctor who actually interprets the content and actually interprets the content and actually interprets the content and gives that information to my doctor gives that information to my doctor gives that information to my doctor and I'm 100% reliant on the eyes and the and I'm 100% reliant on the eyes and the and I'm 100% reliant on the eyes and the knowledge of that radiologist to be able knowledge of that radiologist to be able knowledge of that radiologist to be able to interpret what they're seeing in to interpret what they're seeing in to interpret what they're seeing in those scans and in those images and I'm those scans and in those images and I'm those scans and in those images and I'm 100% with you there will come a time I 100% with you there will come a time I 100% with you there will come a time I think when there will be a machine that think when there will be a machine that think when there will be a machine that has been taught to interpret the images has been taught to interpret the images has been taught to interpret the images and the scans probably at a much much

and the scans probably at a much much and the scans probably at a much much more detailed level than a human doctor more detailed level than a human doctor more detailed level than a human doctor ever will be able to do just because of ever will be able to do just because of ever will be able to do just because of limitation limitation limitation with the human eyes and the human brain with the human eyes and the human brain with the human eyes and the human brain and the artificial intelligence is going and the artificial intelligence is going and the artificial intelligence is going to it's going to exceed that um to it's going to exceed that um to it's going to exceed that um significantly abundantly now how does significantly abundantly now how does significantly abundantly now how does that impact the church I don't know you that impact the church I don't know you that impact the church I don't know you know I mean in in in in in medicine know I mean in in in in in medicine know I mean in in in in in medicine there's always a right and wrong answer there's always a right and wrong answer there's always a right and wrong answer in the church world we always want to in the church world we always want to in the church world we always want to feel like there is a right and wrong feel like there is a right and wrong feel like there is a right and wrong answer however you and I had a answer however you and I had a answer however you and I had a discussion before we even got online discussion before we even got online discussion before we even got online that there are different camps of that there are different camps of that there are different camps of theological theological theological interpretation and different camps of interpretation and different camps of interpretation and different camps of people that uh uh that you know take people that uh uh that you know take people that uh uh that you know take different scriptures and different views different scriptures and different views different scriptures and different views in their hermeneutic and the way that in their hermeneutic and the way that in their hermeneutic and the way that they read and they interpret scripture they read and they interpret scripture they read and they interpret scripture and the way they apply the historicity and the way they apply the historicity and the way they apply the historicity of the the text and the context and so of the the text and the context and so of the the text and the context and so that's why we have different that's why we have different that's why we have different denominations that have slightly denominations that have slightly denominations that have slightly different beliefs you know uh about the different beliefs you know uh about the different beliefs you know uh about the way everything is all playing out from way everything is all playing out from way everything is all playing out from the theological standpoint so I think the theological standpoint so I think the theological standpoint so I think you know if you have a broken bone and you know if you have a broken bone and you know if you have a broken bone and you have an AI tool interpreting what you have an AI tool interpreting what you have an AI tool interpreting what the broken bone is what the damage is the broken bone is what the damage is the broken bone is what the damage is what the best course of action is to what the best course of action is to what the best course of action is to that's that's very different than you that's that's very different than you that's that's very different than you know defining what was the actual intent know defining what was the actual intent know defining what was the actual intent of this particular piece of scripture of this particular piece of scripture of this particular piece of scripture the historical context the meaning of the historical context the meaning of the historical context the meaning of the author what was the author's intent the author what was the author's intent the author what was the author's intent and how do we apply that today I think and how do we apply that today I think and how do we apply that today I think that we're always going to have a little that we're always going to have a little that we're always going to have a little bit of tension in there because you know bit of tension in there because you know bit of tension in there because you know even even even in different seminaries even even even in different seminaries even even even in different seminaries not every Seminary teaches in biblical not every Seminary teaches in biblical not every Seminary teaches in biblical interpretation the exact same way right interpretation the exact same way right interpretation the exact same way right and so there's there's going to be some and so there's there's going to be some and so there's there's going to be some Nuance there but uh it's a very
