startup startup in the town i happened to move to and i in the town i happened to move to and i in the town i happened to move to and i needed a job to uh you know put a roof needed a job to uh you know put a roof needed a job to uh you know put a roof over my head and feed my family so over my head and feed my family so over my head and feed my family so showed up at their doorstep showed up at their doorstep showed up at their doorstep i think at the time there might have i think at the time there might have i think at the time there might have been 15 20 people been 15 20 people been 15 20 people in a converted barn in a converted barn in a converted barn and weren't really looking to hire but and weren't really looking to hire but and weren't really looking to hire but you know something happened when i met you know something happened when i met you know something happened when i met with the with the with the sales manager and he said you know i've sales manager and he said you know i've sales manager and he said you know i've never done this but come back tomorrow never done this but come back tomorrow never done this but come back tomorrow we'll figure something out so kind of we'll figure something out so kind of we'll figure something out so kind of started back in the day when you would started back in the day when you would started back in the day when you would buy software at a christian bookstore buy software at a christian bookstore buy software at a christian bookstore you know the internet hadn't really you know the internet hadn't really you know the internet hadn't really become a thing yet downloads and all all become a thing yet downloads and all all become a thing yet downloads and all all that fun stuff and that fun stuff and that fun stuff and yeah it was 24 years ago so uh yeah it was 24 years ago so uh yeah it was 24 years ago so uh it's crazy i'm i'm in these zoom it's crazy i'm i'm in these zoom it's crazy i'm i'm in these zoom meetings now with with different meetings now with with different meetings now with with different departments uh at faith life and i i departments uh at faith life and i i departments uh at faith life and i i really don't recognize hardly a single really don't recognize hardly a single really don't recognize hardly a single face in these meetings face in these meetings face in these meetings um but yeah uh that's um but yeah uh that's um but yeah uh that's little uh of the story of how i got here little uh of the story of how i got here little uh of the story of how i got here in a nutshell okay let me let me like in a nutshell okay let me let me like in a nutshell okay let me let me like can i can i get you to back up on that can i can i get you to back up on that can i can i get you to back up on that just a little bit look so before we just a little bit look so before we just a little bit look so before we started recording you said that you came started recording you said that you came started recording you said that you came to faith in jesus in arizona i think you to faith in jesus in arizona i think you to faith in jesus in arizona i think you said at a military base jason's in said at a military base jason's in said at a military base jason's in arizona that was kind of how we made arizona that was kind of how we made arizona that was kind of how we made that connection um so before you got out that connection um so before you got out that connection um so before you got out of the air force like did you become a of the air force like did you become a of the air force like did you become a follower of jesus while you were in the follower of jesus while you were in the follower of jesus while you were in the air force or prior to that gave us a air force or prior to that gave us a air force or prior to that gave us a little bit of that story and tell us little bit of that story and tell us little bit of that story and tell us what made you think that getting into what made you think that getting into what made you think that getting into like christian ministry or christian like christian ministry or christian like christian ministry or christian related work was was was something that

related work was was was something that related work was was was something that god was calling you to do god was calling you to do god was calling you to do yeah so i i was the the stereotypical yeah so i i was the the stereotypical yeah so i i was the the stereotypical crazy partying active duty enlisted crazy partying active duty enlisted crazy partying active duty enlisted military guy that was me uh and and yet military guy that was me uh and and yet military guy that was me uh and and yet you know my dad was an officer in the you know my dad was an officer in the you know my dad was an officer in the service so i don't know if it's service so i don't know if it's service so i don't know if it's necessarily necessarily necessarily as much of an emphasis today as it was as much of an emphasis today as it was as much of an emphasis today as it was back when my dad was serving but god in back when my dad was serving but god in back when my dad was serving but god in country was was very big and so country was was very big and so country was was very big and so church was almost required as an officer church was almost required as an officer church was almost required as an officer and so we were faithfully at chapel and so we were faithfully at chapel and so we were faithfully at chapel every sunday but i wouldn't say i grew every sunday but i wouldn't say i grew every sunday but i wouldn't say i grew up in a christian home per se because it up in a christian home per se because it up in a christian home per se because it was only on sunday right um but was only on sunday right um but was only on sunday right um but seeds were planted and you know i i got seeds were planted and you know i i got seeds were planted and you know i i got away from colonel lindsay you know i i away from colonel lindsay you know i i away from colonel lindsay you know i i jokingly tell people i was the only guy jokingly tell people i was the only guy jokingly tell people i was the only guy at boot camp that thought he was on at boot camp that thought he was on at boot camp that thought he was on vacation vacation vacation uh because i got away from my dad uh because i got away from my dad uh because i got away from my dad um and uh you know after about a year of um and uh you know after about a year of um and uh you know after about a year of the crazy lifestyle like yeah this isn't the crazy lifestyle like yeah this isn't the crazy lifestyle like yeah this isn't really all that and somebody happened to really all that and somebody happened to really all that and somebody happened to invite me to an evening church service invite me to an evening church service invite me to an evening church service which i've never heard of church in the which i've never heard of church in the which i've never heard of church in the evening so i was like yeah okay that'll evening so i was like yeah okay that'll evening so i was like yeah okay that'll work i can still sleep in go to church work i can still sleep in go to church work i can still sleep in go to church all right let's go all right let's go all right let's go and it was an evangelism service what i and it was an evangelism service what i and it was an evangelism service what i didn't know was you're supposed to didn't know was you're supposed to didn't know was you're supposed to invite your unsaved friends to this one invite your unsaved friends to this one invite your unsaved friends to this one service and i was that guy service and i was that guy service and i was that guy and i heard the message and it rocked me and i heard the message and it rocked me and i heard the message and it rocked me and i went forward uh gave my life to and i went forward uh gave my life to and i went forward uh gave my life to the lord and the next morning i woke up the lord and the next morning i woke up the lord and the next morning i woke up i was like wow i'm something's happened i was like wow i'm something's happened i was like wow i'm something's happened um um um and yeah i mean the real amazing thing and yeah i mean the real amazing thing and yeah i mean the real amazing thing was within uh six months two of my three
