um and I got hired here as a Storyteller um and I got hired here as a Storyteller so my entire job was to just do so my entire job was to just do so my entire job was to just do testimonies and to film long form when I testimonies and to film long form when I testimonies and to film long form when I say long form I mean like 10 15 minutes say long form I mean like 10 15 minutes say long form I mean like 10 15 minutes with b-roll you know the whole thing um with b-roll you know the whole thing um with b-roll you know the whole thing um and at the time our sermons were being and at the time our sermons were being and at the time our sermons were being uploaded to our website and we had those uploaded to our website and we had those uploaded to our website and we had those running through subsplash running through subsplash running through subsplash and into our kind of our backup which is and into our kind of our backup which is and into our kind of our backup which is our Vimeo account because they do the our Vimeo account because they do the our Vimeo account because they do the lossless video so it's great for that uh lossless video so it's great for that uh lossless video so it's great for that uh but that was it and I knew that we had but that was it and I knew that we had but that was it and I knew that we had great teaching and you hear all the time great teaching and you hear all the time great teaching and you hear all the time uh from Pastor Allen and so um I was uh from Pastor Allen and so um I was uh from Pastor Allen and so um I was trying to think of ways when I took on trying to think of ways when I took on trying to think of ways when I took on doing like social media and learning web doing like social media and learning web doing like social media and learning web design there's got to be a way to get design there's got to be a way to get design there's got to be a way to get this video content out there and nobody this video content out there and nobody this video content out there and nobody had suggested YouTube and and I it had suggested YouTube and and I it had suggested YouTube and and I it hadn't even crossed my mind until I'd hadn't even crossed my mind until I'd hadn't even crossed my mind until I'd watched a video I think you published it watched a video I think you published it watched a video I think you published it in in in 2019 and it was about why your church 2019 and it was about why your church 2019 and it was about why your church needs to be on YouTube now this video needs to be on YouTube now this video needs to be on YouTube now this video like it was kind of a light bulb moment like it was kind of a light bulb moment like it was kind of a light bulb moment because I'm somebody that's been because I'm somebody that's been because I'm somebody that's been watching YouTube since like 07 08 like I watching YouTube since like 07 08 like I watching YouTube since like 07 08 like I grew up on YouTube right so when I heard grew up on YouTube right so when I heard grew up on YouTube right so when I heard that and all the stats about second that and all the stats about second that and all the stats about second largest search in engine its parent largest search in engine its parent largest search in engine its parent company is the largest search engine

company is the largest search engine company is the largest search engine everybody across the board all the everybody across the board all the everybody across the board all the demographics are on it you know race uh demographics are on it you know race uh demographics are on it you know race uh nationality all that stuff it doesn't nationality all that stuff it doesn't nationality all that stuff it doesn't matter everybody's on YouTube and I was matter everybody's on YouTube and I was matter everybody's on YouTube and I was like this is kind of obvious like we like this is kind of obvious like we like this is kind of obvious like we need to at least give this a shot um and need to at least give this a shot um and need to at least give this a shot um and it's one of those things that even if we it's one of those things that even if we it's one of those things that even if we were to go on and nobody it didn't grow were to go on and nobody it didn't grow were to go on and nobody it didn't grow or anything at least our local church or anything at least our local church or anything at least our local church would have something that they all would have something that they all would have something that they all already know how to use YouTube and all already know how to use YouTube and all already know how to use YouTube and all that so I talked to Pastor Allan I said that so I talked to Pastor Allan I said that so I talked to Pastor Allan I said hey I want to give this a shot they said hey I want to give this a shot they said hey I want to give this a shot they said sure go ahead um let's see uh where it sure go ahead um let's see uh where it sure go ahead um let's see uh where it goes from there and I didn't just want goes from there and I didn't just want goes from there and I didn't just want to start doing the regular Sunday to start doing the regular Sunday to start doing the regular Sunday uploads I wanted to do something to kind uploads I wanted to do something to kind uploads I wanted to do something to kind of give incentive to our people locally of give incentive to our people locally of give incentive to our people locally to check out the channel support us on to check out the channel support us on to check out the channel support us on YouTube and I asked around you know just YouTube and I asked around you know just YouTube and I asked around you know just people in the church people on staff people in the church people on staff people in the church people on staff what's kind of is are there any sermon what's kind of is are there any sermon what's kind of is are there any sermon series or anything that would be of series or anything that would be of series or anything that would be of interest and everybody was like interest and everybody was like interest and everybody was like Revelation Revelation so in 2008 to Revelation Revelation so in 2008 to Revelation Revelation so in 2008 to 2009 Pastor Allan did a verse by verse 2009 Pastor Allan did a verse by verse 2009 Pastor Allan did a verse by verse through the Book of Revelation it's through the Book of Revelation it's through the Book of Revelation it's about 66 lessons long about 66 lessons long about 66 lessons long and it wasn't online so I went back to and it wasn't online so I went back to and it wasn't online so I went back to our old hard drives hooked them up to our old hard drives hooked them up to our old hard drives hooked them up to the computer um and was ripping DVDs cuz the computer um and was ripping DVDs cuz the computer um and was ripping DVDs cuz they used to sell DVDs so ripping from they used to sell DVDs so ripping from they used to sell DVDs so ripping from the DVD those sermons putting them the DVD those sermons putting them the DVD those sermons putting them online and little did I know that in

would say so so we've settled on you would say so so we've settled on you being an ex topical bapticostal that being an ex topical bapticostal that being an ex topical bapticostal that that's what we got boom there you go that's what we got boom there you go that's what we got boom there you go makes sense makes sense yeah it's so makes sense makes sense yeah it's so makes sense makes sense yeah it's so good because I was spending some time on good because I was spending some time on good because I was spending some time on your YouTube channel uh this week Josh your YouTube channel uh this week Josh your YouTube channel uh this week Josh and that was my impression was I watched and that was my impression was I watched and that was my impression was I watched a handful of sermons and spent some time a handful of sermons and spent some time a handful of sermons and spent some time in your church website and and the in your church website and and the in your church website and and the expository nature of Pastor Allen's expository nature of Pastor Allen's expository nature of Pastor Allen's preaching really came across not just in preaching really came across not just in preaching really came across not just in the content but even in the title of the the content but even in the title of the the content but even in the title of the videos or the thumbnails of the videos videos or the thumbnails of the videos videos or the thumbnails of the videos before I even click through the video a before I even click through the video a before I even click through the video a lot of them T titled um you know what lot of them T titled um you know what lot of them T titled um you know what does the Bible say about blank or what does the Bible say about blank or what does the Bible say about blank or what is blank and they're not short for is blank and they're not short for is blank and they're not short for videos giving uh a short and succinct videos giving uh a short and succinct videos giving uh a short and succinct answer to that question it's a long form answer to that question it's a long form answer to that question it's a long form sermon like just shown in in its form sermon like just shown in in its form sermon like just shown in in its form the way it's it's pre to your church and the way it's it's pre to your church and the way it's it's pre to your church and I'm I'm so glad you brought up um I I'm I'm so glad you brought up um I I'm I'm so glad you brought up um I guess just the timeline of how how and guess just the timeline of how how and guess just the timeline of how how and when and possibly why your church when and possibly why your church when and possibly why your church experiences growth on YouTube because we experiences growth on YouTube because we experiences growth on YouTube because we talk a lot about this um in the context talk a lot about this um in the context talk a lot about this um in the context of YouTube and why your church should be of YouTube and why your church should be of YouTube and why your church should be on YouTube and and that's why you're on on YouTube and and that's why you're on on YouTube and and that's why you're on the show today is because your church is the show today is because your church is the show today is because your church is a perfect example of it but YouTube is a perfect example of it but YouTube is a perfect example of it but YouTube is the second largest search engine in the the second largest search engine in the the second largest search engine in the world and people are not using it simply world and people are not using it simply world and people are not using it simply just to be entertained people are asking just to be entertained people are asking just to be entertained people are asking the biggest questions that we have on the biggest questions that we have on the biggest questions that we have on YouTube and so we go through this this YouTube and so we go through this this YouTube and so we go through this this shared Global event of of uh a global shared Global event of of uh a global shared Global event of of uh a global pandemic and we're asking all of a pandemic and we're asking all of a pandemic and we're asking all of a sudden like what does this mean in the sudden like what does this mean in the sudden like what does this mean in the context of my faith or the way you put context of my faith or the way you put context of my faith or the way you put it is is the world ending and so when it is is the world ending and so when it is is the world ending and so when people ask those questions on YouTube people ask those questions on YouTube people ask those questions on YouTube one of the ways that they're being one of the ways that they're being one of the ways that they're being served videos and and certainly served

served videos and and certainly served served videos and and certainly served the top results is by keywords so the top results is by keywords so the top results is by keywords so keywords that you're that you're putting keywords that you're that you're putting keywords that you're that you're putting in the description in the tags and in the description in the tags and in the description in the tags and certainly in the title so I guess my certainly in the title so I guess my certainly in the title so I guess my question is what is your strategy for question is what is your strategy for question is what is your strategy for keyword research when it comes to um keyword research when it comes to um keyword research when it comes to um deciding how you're going to publish deciding how you're going to publish deciding how you're going to publish these videos and how you're going to these videos and how you're going to these videos and how you're going to talk about them in those areas talk about them in those areas talk about them in those areas description title tags so we have a few description title tags so we have a few description title tags so we have a few uh I have a few different strategies uh I have a few different strategies uh I have a few different strategies that I use I think going into it um when that I use I think going into it um when that I use I think going into it um when I was kind of learning how to do YouTube I was kind of learning how to do YouTube I was kind of learning how to do YouTube uh I wanted to keep things very plain uh I wanted to keep things very plain uh I wanted to keep things very plain Jane what I mean by that is it drives me Jane what I mean by that is it drives me Jane what I mean by that is it drives me up a wall when I go to a church website up a wall when I go to a church website up a wall when I go to a church website and I go to their sermon library and all and I go to their sermon library and all and I go to their sermon library and all the sermons are titled really cool but I the sermons are titled really cool but I the sermons are titled really cool but I have no idea what it's about does that have no idea what it's about does that have no idea what it's about does that make sense Grave Digger babe language make sense Grave Digger babe language make sense Grave Digger babe language that kind of thing yeah um so that was that kind of thing yeah um so that was that kind of thing yeah um so that was kind of the approach was you know if kind of the approach was you know if kind of the approach was you know if we're teaching on the Bible or a certain we're teaching on the Bible or a certain we're teaching on the Bible or a certain Topic in the Bible uh then that needs to Topic in the Bible uh then that needs to Topic in the Bible uh then that needs to be where we start be where we start be where we start from uh to kind of get people that are from uh to kind of get people that are from uh to kind of get people that are searching for that term to be able to searching for that term to be able to searching for that term to be able to find it and when you go on YouTube find it and when you go on YouTube find it and when you go on YouTube what's actually really surprising is how what's actually really surprising is how what's actually really surprising is how many aspects of the Bible so like books many aspects of the Bible so like books many aspects of the Bible so like books of the Bible topics in the Bible of the Bible topics in the Bible of the Bible topics in the Bible characters in The Bible uh even characters in The Bible uh even characters in The Bible uh even Christian Living you know discipleship Christian Living you know discipleship Christian Living you know discipleship all that stuff how many of those words all that stuff how many of those words all that stuff how many of those words that we hear all the time uh are not that we hear all the time uh are not that we hear all the time uh are not optimized for search they're very low

optimized for search they're very low optimized for search they're very low competitive Search terms and it's just competitive Search terms and it's just competitive Search terms and it's just lwh hanging fruit that I think so many lwh hanging fruit that I think so many lwh hanging fruit that I think so many churches could jump on and optimize churches could jump on and optimize churches could jump on and optimize their video so what I like to do is um their video so what I like to do is um their video so what I like to do is um and it kind of goes into some of the and it kind of goes into some of the and it kind of goes into some of the other questions is provide other questions is provide other questions is provide multiple opportunities in a video to multiple opportunities in a video to multiple opportunities in a video to tell YouTube what that video is about CU tell YouTube what that video is about CU tell YouTube what that video is about CU at the end of the day that's what you're at the end of the day that's what you're at the end of the day that's what you're doing um you put a sermon out there and doing um you put a sermon out there and doing um you put a sermon out there and you say you know live stream March 6th 1 you say you know live stream March 6th 1 you say you know live stream March 6th 1 p.m well nobody nobody's going to search p.m well nobody nobody's going to search p.m well nobody nobody's going to search for that because it's not relevant to for that because it's not relevant to for that because it's not relevant to their life right um so what is the their life right um so what is the their life right um so what is the sermon about the topic and then provide sermon about the topic and then provide sermon about the topic and then provide it maybe with a hook or some form of it maybe with a hook or some form of it maybe with a hook or some form of intrigue something that's going to pull intrigue something that's going to pull intrigue something that's going to pull someone in you can do that in three someone in you can do that in three someone in you can do that in three different ways you can do that in the different ways you can do that in the different ways you can do that in the title you can do that in the thumbnail title you can do that in the thumbnail title you can do that in the thumbnail and you can do that in the description and you can do that in the description and you can do that in the description actually you can also do that at the actually you can also do that at the actually you can also do that at the beginning of your video too so really beginning of your video too so really beginning of your video too so really there's four different ways right off there's four different ways right off there's four different ways right off the bat that you're telling YouTube Hey the bat that you're telling YouTube Hey the bat that you're telling YouTube Hey this video is about this um and so this video is about this um and so this video is about this um and so that's kind of the strategy uh that I that's kind of the strategy uh that I that's kind of the strategy uh that I think about is what is the most think about is what is the most think about is what is the most engaging uh aspect to this sermon that's engaging uh aspect to this sermon that's engaging uh aspect to this sermon that's going to make someone click because going to make someone click because going to make someone click because sometimes it is the bi the topic that's sometimes it is the bi the topic that's sometimes it is the bi the topic that's being taught uh other times it's the being taught uh other times it's the being taught uh other times it's the application at the end and usually at application at the end and usually at application at the end and usually at the end of the sermon so um that's the end of the sermon so um that's the end of the sermon so um that's really the strategy um that we really the strategy um that we really the strategy um that we use you mentioned finding keywords that
