the ones that are going to attract the most comments of course but the the most comments of course but the the most comments of course but the reason they went viral is probably reason they went viral is probably reason they went viral is probably because they were the types of content because they were the types of content because they were the types of content that was going to draw comments to begin that was going to draw comments to begin that was going to draw comments to begin with because they're making people feel with because they're making people feel with because they're making people feel something so you kind of have this something so you kind of have this something so you kind of have this self-fulfilling thing that being said self-fulfilling thing that being said self-fulfilling thing that being said I'll make the caveat I have seen some I'll make the caveat I have seen some I'll make the caveat I have seen some incredibly vanilla social pieces that incredibly vanilla social pieces that incredibly vanilla social pieces that have gone viral uh the one that comes to have gone viral uh the one that comes to have gone viral uh the one that comes to mind as a science detracting from the point of the science detracting from the point of the science we're trying to publish and folks are we're trying to publish and folks are we're trying to publish and folks are getting bogged down in the comment getting bogged down in the comment getting bogged down in the comment section because of these Anonymous section because of these Anonymous section because of these Anonymous comments so like we're just going to comments so like we're just going to comments so like we're just going to turn this off um Popular Science said turn this off um Popular Science said turn this off um Popular Science said even a a a fractious minority wields even a a a fractious minority wields even a a a fractious minority wields enough power to skew a reader's enough power your your follower size if you follower your your follower size if you follower your your follower size if you got a good hook and and you're providing got a good hook and and you're providing got a good hook and and you're providing you know uh some provocative truths of you know uh some provocative truths of you know uh some provocative truths of the of the Christian tra tradition and the of the Christian tra tradition and the of the Christian tra tradition and wisdom like it's probably pretty likely wisdom like it's probably pretty likely wisdom like it's probably pretty likely that there isn't a whole lot of anonymity um like isn't a whole lot of anonymity um like isn't a whole lot of anonymity um like there is maybe on on Twitter when folks there is maybe on on Twitter when folks there is maybe on on Twitter when folks are take to Twitter in an anonymous way are take to Twitter in an anonymous way are take to Twitter in an anonymous way or in the Popular Science comment or in the Popular Science comment or in the Popular Science comment section way where there's true anonymity section way where there's true anonymity section way where there's true anonymity when you get get outside of like that when you get get outside of like that when you get get outside of like that one degree of separation or direct uh one degree of separation or direct uh one degree of separation or direct uh interaction with a local church folks interaction with a local church folks interaction with a local church folks are like very eager to say things um

wouldn't have the courage to that they wouldn't have the courage to that they wouldn't have the courage to say in person and so that's what happens say in person and so that's what happens say in sermon clips that you things on these sermon clips that you things on these sermon clips that you would never say to a local church and would never say to a local church and would never say to a local church and you would never say to somebody in you would never say to somebody in you would never say to somebody in person and that's just that's just how person and that's just that's just how person and that's just that's just how the anonymity or the the physical the anonymity or the the physical the anonymity or the the physical separation of these comment sections in separation of these locally and these kind of comments both locally and these kind of comments both locally and these kind of like these comments that are coming in like these comments that are coming in like these comments that are coming in from from abroad um and we've got some from from abroad um and we've got some from from abroad um and we've got some like specific tips and tactics like specific tips and tactics like specific tips and tactics methodology for interacting with those methodology for interacting with those methodology for interacting with those kinds of things in the comments because kinds of things in the comments because kinds of things in the comments because and what the New Yorker piece was trying and what the New Yorker piece was trying and what the New Yorker piece was trying to paint it was like okay Popular to paint it was like okay Popular to paint it was like okay Popular Science has made this choice but it's Science has made this choice but it's Science has have as much incentive to share your content when they know that there's content when they know that there's content when they know that there's going to be no engagement whatsoever going to be no engagement whatsoever going to be no engagement whatsoever like you're not using social for social like you're not using social for social like you're not using social for social now you're using it for like broadcast now you're using it for like broadcast now you're using it for like broadcast which is not what these platforms are which is not what these platforms are which is not what these platforms are designed to do and they're not designed to do and they're not designed to do and they're not incentivized to prioritize content that incentivized to prioritize content that incentivized to prioritize content that is does not want to play by the rules is does not want to play by the rules is does not want to play by the rules that being said if you're Popular that being said if you're Popular that being said if you're Popular Science your publication is big enough Science your publication is big enough Science your publication is big enough that you can still receive distribution that you can still receive distribution that you can still receive distribution right and what you've also probably made
