building which was a into our very first building which was a into our very first building which was a 500-seat auditorium in Frisco on the 500-seat auditorium in Frisco on the 500-seat auditorium in Frisco on the east side of Frisco and after a couple east side of Frisco and after a couple east side of Frisco and after a couple years of growth we actually felt need to years of growth we actually you know God just continue to allow us to grow and so around 2010-2011

allow us to grow and so around 2010-2011 allow us to grow and so around 2010-2011 it was obvious that we know that our it was obvious that we know that our it was obvious that we know that our mission was to reach as many people that mission was to reach as many people that mission was to reach as many people that God would allow to come into our God would allow to come into our God would allow to come into our community and our community was community and our community was community and our community was continuing to grow and so we kind of continuing to grow and so we kind of continuing to grow and so we kind of we're at a crossroads do we relocate and we're at a crossroads do we relocate and we're at a crossroads do we relocate and get a bigger site or do we start to get a bigger site or do we start to get a bigger site or do we start to explore this idea of multi-site and I explore this idea of multi-site and I explore this idea of multi-site and I honestly for us multi-site was not I honestly for us multi-site was not I honestly for us multi-site was not I know kind of right now it's a very know kind of right now it's a very know kind of right now it's a very normal natural and in a way it's kind of normal natural and in a way it's kind of normal natural and in a way it's kind of trendy to think about and but for us it trendy to think about and but for us it trendy to think about and but for us it was just not our what are experience was was just not our what are experience was was just not our what are experience was so we really thought and prayed hard so we really thought and prayed hard so we really thought and prayed hard about it and but in the end we just about it and but in the end we just about it and but in the end we just really felt okay you know what I think really felt okay you know what I think really felt okay you know what I think God is calling us to expand by being God is calling us to expand by being God is calling us to expand by being local to different areas and really be local to different areas and really be local to different areas and really be able to reach that community better and able to reach that community better and able to reach that community better and so that's when we made the decision to so that's when we made the decision to so that's when we made the decision to go multi side and one of the things when go multi side and one of the things when go multi side and one of the things when we first started thinking about we first started thinking about we first started thinking about multi-site the places we went to ask multi-site the places we went to ask multi-site the places we went to ask them about it they were a lot of them them about it they were a lot of them them about it they were a lot of them would say one of our first mistake big would say one of our first mistake big would say one of our first mistake big mistakes was going to small and so we mistakes was going to small and so we mistakes was going to small and so we said oh man we're going to go big you said oh man we're going to go big you said oh man we're going to go big you know and so we actually ended up our know and so we actually ended up our know and so we actually ended up our first Texas after all right that joke first Texas after all right that joke first Texas after all right that joke was set itself up come on my site is in was set itself up come on my site is in was set itself up come on my site is in McKinney Texas and it's our just our McKinney Texas and it's our just our McKinney Texas and it's our just our neighboring town from Frisco and what we neighboring town from Frisco and what we neighboring town from Frisco and what we did was we bought a former Albertsons did was we bought a former Albertsons did was we bought a former Albertsons and it's right on to basically highways

fewer of them so it's easier to have fewer of them so it's easier to have one-on-one conversations with them but one-on-one conversations with them but one-on-one conversations with them but also there around you more there around also there around you more there around also there around you more there around the the leaders more the lead pastor the the leaders more the lead pastor the the leaders more the lead pastor myself maybe other leaders that have myself maybe other leaders that have myself maybe other leaders that have been in the ministry a long time so one been in the ministry a long time so one been in the ministry a long time so one thing that I've found is just vital is thing that I've found is just vital is thing that I've found is just vital is to see that new multi-site with the DNA to see that new multi-site with the DNA to see that new multi-site with the DNA in the culture that that has been there in the culture that that has been there in the culture that that has been there from the beginning so i think that's from the beginning so i think that's from the beginning so i think that's that's important at the same time like that's important at the same time like that's important at the same time like for us we weren't able to fully staff a for us we weren't able to fully staff a for us we weren't able to fully staff a multi-site none of our multi sites with multi-site none of our multi sites with multi-site none of our multi sites with people that we already had because we people that we already had because we people that we already had because we needed to we had to pull some people in needed to we had to pull some people in needed to we had to pull some people in from the outside because we needed their from the outside because we needed their from the outside because we needed their experience we didn't have everybody experience we didn't have everybody experience we didn't have everybody ready to go and but at the same time we ready to go and but at the same time we ready to go and but at the same time we needed to make sure that we seeded these needed to make sure that we seeded these needed to make sure that we seeded these sites with people who had been on our sites with people who had been on our sites with people who had been on our staff so that's one of the things about staff so that's one of the things about staff so that's one of the things about it the other thing about that we're it the other thing about that we're it the other thing about that we're still learning is that you know it's it still learning is that you know it's it still learning is that you know it's it and we're trying to figure out that and we're trying to figure out that and we're trying to figure out that balance between like for some for balance between like for some for balance between like for some for instance we're 11 church in multiple instance we're 11 church in multiple instance we're 11 church in multiple sites so what does it look like when a sites so what does it look like when a sites so what does it look like when a staff member moves from one side to staff member moves from one side to staff member moves from one side to another site is that a negative is a another site is that a negative is a another site is that a negative is a positive how do we help people to positive how do we help people to positive how do we help people to understand the positive around a hat so understand the positive around a hat so understand the positive around a hat so that's like further down the road but at that's like further down the road but at that's like further down the road but at the beginning seating that with people the beginning seating that with people the beginning seating that with people that have your DNA the heavier cultures that have your DNA the heavier cultures that have your DNA the heavier cultures have been around that have as a leader have been around that have as a leader have been around that have as a leader whether the the lead pastor the vision whether the the lead pastor the vision whether the the lead pastor the vision of the church their heart and they can of the church their heart and they can of the church their heart and they can communicate that so when you're bringing communicate that so when you're bringing communicate that so when you're bringing in new staff they're not going to be in new staff they're not going to be in new staff they're not going to be around the ones that have been there around the ones that have been there around the ones that have been there forever as much so you need to be able

be good particularly for staffing for growth is particularly for staffing for growth is particularly for staffing for growth is to benchmark what is happening at your to benchmark what is happening at your to benchmark what is happening at your church and what has happened at other church and what has happened at other church and what has happened at other churches when they've gone multi-site churches when they've gone multi-site churches when they've gone multi-site and try to find some dynamic equivalents and try to find some dynamic equivalents and try to find some dynamic equivalents where you're like you know here's this where you're like you know here's this where you're like you know here's this other church hope it'd be a great other church hope it'd be a great other church hope it'd be a great example of that lean into that story example of that lean into that story example of that lean into that story what was their growth actually like in what was their growth actually like in what was their growth actually like in the first year second year and you know the first year second year and you know the first year second year and you know find half a dozen
