destination church so I came in one day and I wasn't

pastor for i've been a pastor for a long time and i've been a pastor for a long time and i've been a pastor for a long time and and it's a man i can just resound with and it's a man i can just resound with and it's a man i can just resound with this and so I started volunteering by this and so I started volunteering by this and so I started volunteering by setting up in the kids a ministry setting up in the kids a ministry setting up in the kids a ministry because we're a portable church and all because we're a portable church and all because we're a portable church and all of our campuses and and of our campuses and and of our campuses and and and I don't know anything about all that and I don't know anything about all that and I don't know anything about all that stuff but they took me in and I did that stuff but they took me in and I did that stuff but they took me in and I did that next thing you know we just begin to next thing you know we just begin to next thing you know we just begin to work together and with my graph work together and with my graph work together and with my graph background and leadership development as background and leadership development as background and leadership development as part of John Maxwell's team and stuff part of John Maxwell's team and stuff part of John Maxwell's team and stuff like that just met started talking he like that just met started talking he like that just met started talking he said can you come in and consult started said can you come in and consult started said can you come in and consult started doing some stuff just helping them doing some stuff just helping them doing some stuff just helping them didn't came on part time and the next didn't came on part time and the next didn't came on part time and the next thing you know I was it was like the thing you know I was it was like the thing you know I was it was like the Borg I was assimilated into the face and Borg I was assimilated into the face and Borg I was assimilated into the face and I got to tell you it's been the most I got to tell you it's been the most I got to tell you it's been the most phenomenal and I mean I'm coming up on phenomenal and I mean I'm coming up on phenomenal and I mean I'm coming up on my 28th year of ministry full-time my 28th year of ministry full-time my 28th year of ministry full-time ministry it has been the most phenomenal ministry it has been the most phenomenal ministry it has been the most phenomenal place culture wise respect wise powerful place culture wise respect wise powerful place culture wise respect wise powerful to be a part of this church in this to be a part of this church in this to be a part of this church in this staff and with very young staff and so staff and with between the vision staying in the lanes between the vision staying in the lanes between the vision and the values I'm part of the executive

and the values I'm part of the executive and the values I'm part of the executive team so we are kind of the inner circle team so we are kind of the inner circle team so we are kind of the inner circle for Brian and and so he can sound off for Brian and and so he can sound off for Brian and and so he can sound off things and have a safe place to detest things and have a safe place to detest things and have a safe place to detest stuff and talk about things and I'm stuff and talk about things and I'm stuff and talk about things and I'm responsible for our staff and hiring and responsible for our staff and hiring and responsible for our staff and hiring and things like that but but one of my key things like that but but one of my key things like that but but one of my key roles is how we develop our leadership roles is how we develop our leadership roles is how we develop our leadership culture and that means how our folks are culture and that means how our folks are culture and that means how our folks are on a path or a process of becoming on a path or a process of becoming on a path or a process of becoming better leaders so we can actually lead better leaders so we can actually lead better leaders so we can actually lead the people that God brings us and so the people that God brings us and so the people that God brings us and so that takes up quite a bit of of what I that takes up quite a bit of of what I that takes up quite a bit of of what I get to do there and in the organization get to do there and in the organization get to do there and in the organization you know we're a strange church in a lot you know we're a strange church in a lot you know we're a strange church in a lot of ways and that is that and I won't of ways and that is that and I won't of probably one of recorded but but we're probably one of the few churches if not the only Church the few churches if not the only Church the few churches if not the only Church in the United States that owns its own in the United States that owns its own in the United States that owns its own movie theater hmm and we actually show movie theater hmm and we actually show movie theater hmm and we actually show regular movies they are like you know regular movies they are like you know regular movies they are like you know not all the real bad ones but but but not all the real bad ones but but but not all the real bad ones but but but but nevertheless we show movies there is but nevertheless we show movies there is but nevertheless we show movies there is an outreach to the community and we seen an outreach to the community and we seen an outreach to the community and we seen scores of families come through our scores of families come through our scores of families come through our movie we're already in church we're already a church in a movie theater and you know church in a movie theater and you know church in a movie theater and you know I'm regal there's probably some guys I'm regal there's probably some guys I'm regal there's probably some guys listening that are part of the movie listening that are part of the movie listening that are part of the movie theater churches and so regal does a theater churches and so regal does a theater churches and so regal does a great job working with them and I have great job working with them and I have great job working with them and I have nothing bad to say about regal what's nothing bad to say about regal what's nothing bad to say about regal what's with amazing relationships there and so with amazing relationships there and so with amazing relationships there and so we thought about it and you know our we thought about it and you know our we thought about it and you know our church is in the last four and a half accept Christ we're hundred people accept Christ we're hundred people accept Christ we're extremely evangelical in our outreach extremely evangelical in our outreach extremely evangelical in our outreach although we are focused on discipleship although we are focused on discipleship although we are focused on discipleship and our small groups and so we actually and our small groups and so we actually and our small groups and so we actually was Brian and one of our other campus was Brian and one of our other campus was Brian and one of our other campus pastors were having coffee one day and pastors were having coffee one day and pastors were having coffee one day and they said you know how come why couldn't they said you know how come why couldn't they said you know how come why couldn't we just start our own movie theater one we just start our own movie theater one we just start our own movie theater one day I mean we're in there and then the day I mean we're in there and then the day I mean we're in there and then the movie theater would pay for the church movie theater would pay for the church movie theater would pay for the church and so you wouldn't have to worry about and so you wouldn't have to worry about and so you wouldn't have to worry about anything and we could reach the anything and we could reach the anything and we could reach the community and so it just was a dream and community and so it just was a dream and community and so it just was a dream and one day the local movie theater was a one day the local movie theater was a one day the local movie theater was a dollar theater went out of business I dollar theater went out of business I dollar theater went out of business I think that the only people attending or think that the only people attending or think that the only people attending or going to that were rats and spiders at going to that were rats and spiders at going to that were rats and spiders at that point and and we went in there was that point and and we went in there was that point and and we went in there was dilapidated it was torn down but we're dilapidated it was torn down but we're dilapidated it was torn down but we're ever negotiate we spent about three ever negotiate we spent about three ever negotiate we spent about three hundred thousand dollars going in there hundred thousand dollars going in there hundred thousand dollars going in there renovating it bringing it up to modern renovating it bringing it up to modern renovating it bringing it up to modern standards and opened it sa as a five standards and opened it sa as a five standards and opened it sa as a five dollar movie theater so you know the dollar movie theater so you know the dollar movie theater so you know the regular movies there is about fourteen regular movies there is about fourteen regular movies there is about fourteen thirteen dollars and we just we said thirteen dollars and we just we said thirteen dollars and we entertainment a part of this as family entertainment and so that's what happened we started

on here come in and go away what's going on here and this is a church that's the weirdest and this is a church that's the weirdest and this is a church that's the weirdest thing I ever heard but you clear there's nothing wrong with a lateral growth and what I mean by that lateral growth and what I mean by that lateral growth and what I mean by that is someone goes from another one church is someone goes from another one church is someone goes from another one church to another church because they have more to another church because they have more to another church because they have more Fidel Fidel Fidel the vision of the new church or whatever the vision of the new church or whatever the vision of the new church or whatever I no problem with that but our focus a I no problem with you start out helping out you know effect they somehow helping out you know effect they somehow helping out you know effect they somehow go from a guy helping set up in kids go from a guy helping set up in kids go from a guy helping set up in kids ministry to being a consultant with the ministry to being a consultant with the ministry to being a consultant with the church eventually the executive pastor church eventually the executive pastor church eventually the executive pastor you've kind of seen the entire spectrum you've kind of seen the entire spectrum you've kind of seen the entire spectrum there of leadership it seems like you there of leadership it seems like you there of leadership it seems like you were kind of exerting amount of were kind of exerting amount of were kind of exerting amount of influence but they didn't give you a influence but they didn't give you a influence but they didn't give you a title how does that work out and it

my focus and heart serving at the church my focus and heart was just to serve the church you know I was just to serve the church you know I was just to serve the church you know I wanted to be a part of the vision I had wanted to be a part of the vision I had wanted to be a part of the vision I had fidelity with it I said I can I can be a fidelity with it I said I can I can be a fidelity with it I said I can I can be a part of this and so I started serving part of this and so I started serving part of this and so I started serving but you know you know God calls people but you know you know God calls people but you know you know God calls people he calls us for influence that's why he calls us for influence that's why he calls us for influence that's why we're called song light right salt we're called song light right salt we're called song light right salt influences light influences it it influences light influences it it influences light influences it it doesn't necessarily change it it doesn't necessarily change it it doesn't necessarily change it it influences it and so you know so as I influences it and so you know so as I influences it and so you know so as I got to be a part of that the gifts that got to be a part of that the gifts that got to be a part of that the gifts that God has given me I guess begin to be God has given me I guess begin to be God has given me I those people who begin to emerge with those people who begin to emerge with those people who begin to emerge with leadership giftings you know you can leadership giftings you know you can leadership giftings you know you can learn those things but there are some learn those things but there are some learn those things but there are some people that have that and I think that people that have that up at about 5 530 i'm reading something about about 5 530 i'm reading something about about 5 530 i'm reading something about leadership i want to be the best I can leadership i want to be the best I be I just couldn't live up to folks and and it quit for a little to folks and and it quit for a little to folks and and it quit for a little while and so this was a time of respite while and so this was a time of respite while and so this was a time of respite for me and I remember telling Brian I for me and I remember telling Brian I for me and I remember telling Brian I have no desire to be a pastor i wanna i

just serving it begin to show and and and and serving it begin to show and and and and serving it begin to show and and and and the influence begin to happen and you the influence begin to happen and people would would solicit our people would would solicit information and and brian is a smart guy information and and brian is a smart guy information and and brian is a smart guy just a and what i know it's funny Jesus changed the world and it's funny Jesus changed the world and it's funny Jesus changed the world and and the only people that gave him a and the only people that gave him a and the only people that gave him a title were well you know was was God title were well you know was was God title were well you know was was God really you know this is my son so to really you know this is my son so to really you know this is my son so to speak um but but he didn't he didn't speak um but but he didn't he didn't speak um but but he didn't he didn't leave from a title or anything like people and help them follow and discover people and help them follow and discover people and help them follow and discover their dream they will follow and be a their dream they will follow and be a their dream they will follow and be a part of what you're doing now how are part of what you're doing now how are part of what you're doing now how are you kind of implementing that I'm you kind of the fact that they were able to grab the fact that they were able to grab the fact that they didn't have to be the answer that they didn't have to be the answer that they didn't have to be the answer that they didn't have to know all the questions didn't have to know all the questions didn't have to know all the questions that they didn't have to meet everyone's that they didn't have to meet everyone's that they didn't have to meet everyone's needs but that they could build a team needs but that they could build a team needs but that they could build a team and equip people to do what the Bible and equip people to do what the Bible and equip people to do what the Bible the New Testament talks about doing they the New Testament talks about doing they the New Testament talks about doing we what other people around them and we want you to know that no matter who you want you to know that no matter who you want you to know that no matter who you are God you cannot be a tenant are God you cannot be a tenant are God you cannot be a tenant everything your attend somewhere so everything your attend somewhere so everything your attend somewhere so we're going to find the place that you
