Marie cooked a huge meal of spaghetti, and we sat around and talked and played card games and talked about each other and talked about ourselves. And for the very first time in my life, I could talk to anyone and I wanted to talk to. I could talk to them about subjects that the average person had never even thought of as existing, let alone as a difficulty in society. You could actually react to people on a 1 to 1 basis without there being any misunderstanding, without there being any need to say, I know I sound like a man, and I'm probably don’t look much like a woman. But deep down inside I'm a woman. And I want you to treat me like a woman. There was no need for any of that.
